Astara

Food and packaging manufacturing

Production visibility
for food and packaging.

Astara is built around the machinery that forms, fills, wraps and palletises. See what each line made by product, where the shift lost time and which faults keep coming back.

Short runs, tight margins

Many products, one line, and very little slack.

Food and packaging lines change product often and run to a schedule. A few short stops per shift can decide whether an order ships on time.

Astara ties every count and every stop to the product that was running, so you can see how the line really performs for each product rather than on average.

What you can see

Each product.
Each shift.

The questions a production manager asks every morning, answered from machine evidence.

01

What did we make?

Production totals by product and day, in the unit your team works in.

02

Are we on plan?

Enter the expected production for a machine and follow actual output against it.

03

Where did the time go?

Running, idle, stopped and faulted time for the shift, with unknown time shown honestly.

04

What keeps stopping us?

Recurring alarms, their duration and the stops they are linked to.

05

How fast do we run?

Production rate measured over running time, product by product.

06

What happened last week?

A weekly production report ready for the production meeting.

Common questions

Food & packaging, answered.

Does Astara work with our existing machines?
Astara connects to PLC-controlled equipment that can expose data over OPC UA, which many modern forming, filling, wrapping and palletising machines support. Older equipment can start with a CSV import.
Can we see production by product?
Yes. The gateway reads the product code alongside the production counter, so totals, rates and reports are broken down by product.
We count in cartons, not pieces. Is that a problem?
No. Unit conversions are set up per machine and product, and each person can view production in the unit they prefer.
How do we get started?
Contact us with a machine in mind, or a spreadsheet of recent production. We will show you what the same information looks like in Astara.
